After breakfast, we’ll depart from Manyara and enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, traveling through the Ngorongoro Highlands to the Ndutu Area. Here, we’ll begin our game drives with a special focus on the Great Migration. Serengeti National Park, one of the largest parks in Tanzania, is renowned for spotting predators like leopards and lions and witnessing the calving grounds of migrating animals. This World Heritage Site spans approximately 15,000 square kilometers and is home to over 2 million herbivores, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and around 500 bird species. During the dry season, massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes like gazelles can be seen. The North Serengeti also hosts a variety of resident wildlife, including lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, and the rare oribi antelope. After the game drives, we’ll return to the lodge, Sero Tented Camp Ndutu, for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we’ll descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight home or to your next destination, marking the end of your safari. Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s seven natural wonders, is one of the most incredible ecosystems on Earth. Formed millions of years ago from a volcanic explosion, it is home to the Maasai people and their livestock, coexisting peacefully with wildlife. The crater, about 610 meters deep and covering roughly 260 square kilometers, boasts a dense animal population of approximately 25,000 species. Within minutes, you can see wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and over 500 bird species. With a bit of luck, you might also spot the endangered black rhino.
